For construction costs alone, the Palms has allocated an estimated budget of $5.8 million, to change the entire dining area with new furniture, walls, ceiling finishes and electrical and lighting fixtures. Soon, the buffet will close and begin a complete overhaul of its 9,685-square-foot space on the edge of the casino floor. During the six-month renovation, the buffet had been serving all night long. Over the weekend, the former 24 Seven Cafe was replaced by Lucky Penny, an updated version of a round-the-clock casino coffee shop. The mega-million investments improving the Palms continue, with a high-priced upgrade in the works for the Bistro Buffet.
